Application of Biofilm Carrier in Aerobic Reactors as a Method to Improve Quality of Wastewater Treatment

The research revealed in the paper considers improvement of secondary treatment wastewater aerobic reactor to provide removal organics and nutrients. There were five types polymer biofilm carriers taken into account initially; however, two them decided not apply due technological reasons. main part was divided three substages investigate each type carrier. According literature review, optimal efficiency may be reached if carrier filling ratio is 10 30% volume. On this basis, there benches launched at sub-stage with a corresponding 10, 20, 30%. fourth had no floating control experiment. all showed effect BOD range 95–96% for equipped carrier, which can considered similar bench 92%. In case ammonia nitrogen, only 55% efficiency, while helped increase up 70–86%. Despite obtaining relatively positive results, has continued achieve regulation requirements quality.
